Responsibilities

I had many responsibilities while at the City of Ames. I was in charge of the Healthy Vending Initiative and designing the display case for Heart Health Month. I would help Andrea with various activities such as prepping fruits and vegetables for fundraisers, body composition screenings, health screenings, and other things. Andrea and I worked on a project for the Fire Department that was aimed towards improving their meals while on shift. I also attended meetings for the Ames Worksite Wellbeing Collaboration, Healthiest Ames, the Health Insurance Advisory Committee and the City of Ames Wellness Team. At the meetings I would take notes and then put them in a Word Document for the members to have for reference. My internship was exciting because I did something new almost every day.

Accomplishments

Working on the Healthy Vending Initiative and presenting to the Ames Worksite Wellbeing Collaboration on my findings.
