Responsibilities

Creating activities for teachers to utilize in the classroom to enhance global competence in middle/high school aged students, reviewing research papers and providing meaningful feedback to students to encourage further curiosity to global issues, finding research to incorporate into a grant, creating mail merges and organizational spreadsheets, attending any available educational conferences that relate to educating youth about global competence

Accomplishments

I took part in writing a grant that could potentially provide more opportunities for underserved youth in Iowa to participate in the global youth programs at The World Food Prize.

What advice would you give?

Find an internship that you really think you could enjoy doing! A lot of my peers took the route of working directly with youth, which is awesome for them, but I knew administrative work was more for me so I made sure to seek out an internship to fit that. There are so many awesome opportunities out there, take the time to find one that you think could be a great fit for you. This is a really fun experience, don't just settle on an internship!
