Come prepared to each training sessions with a workout in mind. There are guidelines for each workout provided, but ultimately it is up to the trainer. Provide modification exercises where needed, making sure everyone is safe during the workout. Take clients through a proper warm-up and cool down, correct form, showing clients how to properly spot each other and hold each other accountable.
It is very rewarding to me when people not only reach but exceed their strength training goals. It truly is all mental, and when you have someone to push you - you really see what you are made of. Building connections and getting one on one clients from this internship is also one of the great accomplishments I made during this internship.
What advice would you give?
Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. I was uncomfortable the first month or so during this internship because I was really growing as a person and a trainer.
