Accomplishments

The greatest accomplishment from this experience was being on a team that was able to provide support those who needed it. When families have lost a loved one, its a rollercoaster of emotions. I enjoy signing families up for Crime Victim Compensation Program because while it cannot bring back their loved one, nor can it take away the pain, it can help alleviate financial stress.

What advice would you give?

Apply for internships early. Make the internship your own by incorporating your own interests. For example, my supervisor set up two Ames PD ride alongs because law enforcement is a possible path for my future.
