Janae Stegman

Responsibilities

I get to work in three different departments in the Aspen Meadows campus. I get to work as a bartender/server in their fine dining restaurant. I work in conference services setting up and tearing down conference rooms and food/coffee hubs. I also get to work banquets where we serve wine/appetizers/food and tear down and set up events.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment from my experience here is getting to be a lead for a banquet event. I got to have a team of interns and got to experience what it was like to be a captain for a day.

Learning experience

I have learned that we work with a variety of people whether it is guests or coworkers. No matter who I am working with I have learned to adapt to them and learn how to work my best with certain people.

What advice would you give?

Don't be afraid to go the extra mile with your work because guests, coworkers, and your bosses will appreciate and notice you more. Also, if their is a problem that you can't solve yourself then don't be afraid to bring it to someone's attention. It will help you in the long run. Last but not least, respect everybody around you and do your best to be nice to everyone because it will bring you so much farther in the long run!!
