Responsibilities

My responsibilities during my internship was to work with campers with different kinds of disabilities from age 6 and up by assisting and supporting them in inclusive activities. As well help campers with personal care as needed, feeding, operating CPAP machines and hoyer. With that being said I collaborated with a team and sanitized the cabin at the end of the week.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship experience was giving campers an unforgettable experience at camp. For example one of my campers told their parent I was their favorite counselor and thank me for making their experience fun.

Learning experience

One of greatest lessons I learned from my experience at camp, was don't be afraid to speak up and advocate for yourself. As well trying new things even if is scary.

What advice would you give?

The advice I would give to a future student in my major, is don't be afraid to ask questions, especially when getting feedback from practicums. Because without asking how will you improve your performance.
