Responsibilities

My obligations while doing this internship included being present during multiple sport weightlifting sessions. I helped correct student-athletes when performing their lifts. I helped athletes do multiple physical tests throughout the semester to record improvements and declines. I did an end of the year presentation which included completing an annual plan and a 4-week exercise plan for a sport of my choice. I was also given books to read that helped give facts on what the internship coordinator was teaching me

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment would be when I was able to run a full hour long lifting session for these division 1 athletes.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned would be that you can always keep learning. The staff I worked with between the 3 of them have been coaching for 40 years and they are able to keep learning every day.

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students would be to really focus in your courses throughout the major, because you will never know when you need the information you learn.
