Completion of the Server Workgroup Training Program and Host Workgroup Training Program, which allows interns to experience many different aspects of operations throughout the venue. Involvement in marketing and community outreach through guerrilla marketing and brand promotion. Completion of RAFTs (cooking items off the menu) in order to understand Back of House operations and learning menu items more in depth. Shadowing managers during opening, closing and floor shifts to understand restaurant operations, event execution, financials, inventory and reporting.
Prior to working at Pinstripes this summer, I had no restaurant or serving experience. My greatest accomplishment from this experience was my ability to learn different workgroups and execution of various tasks throughout the venue. In addition, I was able to expand my network and develop relationships with professionals that will help my career search after graduation. I truly have grown from this experience and am thankful for all of the skills I have developed through this program.
What advice would you give?
Never be afraid to ask questions and to learn new things outside of your comfort zone.
