Responsibilities

I am the first intern with this organization. I have done a lot of the behind the scenes work for this organization, such as calling foster care agencies to talk about our programs and how they affect the agencies, contacting foster parents through email, as well as organizing the volunteers and their roles in the agency. I also attend board meetings and any other conferences, phone calls, and meetings where Chicago Angels are present.

Accomplishments

I think learning about the programs accomplishments and the reason behind how it started has been very rewarding and interesting to be apart of.

What advice would you give?

Going off of the above, I think having an internship with a set of guidance and direction will be very important. Discuss your hours and role with your internship coordinator before making any decisions and start contacting different potential agencies to work for well in advance.
