Responsibilities

o To start of we were given the role/position of restaurant supervisors/managers. o Our main responsibility was to run the Pool side restaurant call the Pavilion throughout the summer. o We had other tasks like taking care of our staff, where we had their schedules and had to supervise them throughout the day to help members at the club. o Another big responsibility we had was to open and also close and lock down the restaurant at the end of the day. Making sure everything is in its place and ready for the next day.

Accomplishments

o My Greatest accomplishment was successfully running the entire restaurant all by myself, this took some time to get used to, and yes I’ve made a lot of mistakes, but it is those mistakes and errors that I made that helped me along the way. o I also learned the art of expediting dinner service. The General Manager of the club put me in charge of expediting the dessert service, this was another big accomplishment for me. o Overall, I believe that me just completing this internship successfully is a huge accomplishment.

Learning experience

o I’ve learned that time management and planning are two of the most if not the most important aspect in this industry. I have learned how to go about planning my day as well as the restaurant and my staff’s day. o Everything needs to be planed in advance to avoid any sort of problems.

What advice would you give?

o In the beginning it may seem like a lot of work but believe me you will end up loving every aspect of the job along the way. o Make sure to take time and think through every step of the way , this gives you full proof to get work done and also ensures perfection.
