Responsibilities

•Respond to and provide clients with support through crisis via in-person meetings and crisis line calls •Establish solid rapport with children and families, fostering trust and communication to meet case needs •Support clients through a variety of issues while utilizing trauma-informed and empathetic skills •Builds strong collaborative relationships with local schools and service areas •Facilitate groups to educate at-risk youth on healthy relationships as an effort of sexual and domestic abuse prevention •Guide clients through criminal justice and community resources using my relationships with law enforcement •Create therapeutic games and tools for clients

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment has been realizing that this is the right path for me. I have created many strong relationships with my clients and have seen them improve and become better versions of themselves. I have created many therapeutic games and techniques to use with individual clients and it is great knowing that the clients appreciate it.

What advice would you give?

Do not be afraid to ask questions and take initiative in your roles as an intern!
