Responsibilities

Assisting with hotel operations in ways such as housekeeping, reservations, event setup/teardown, and catering services.

Accomplishments

Learning the reservation system Visual One that are used at the hotel. This I would say is the largest task that I conquered because of the sheer magnitude of the application. It was very rewarding to me to understand it and be able to run it without any problems.

Learning experience

One of the greatest lessons I learned is that your mindset affects everything about your workday. Going into each day with a mindset of wanting to get better and enjoy your day makes life better at your work. Making connections and building relationships with people in my opinion is one of the greatest things you can do with your day, and having a positive mindset attracts people to you!

What advice would you give?

Some advice that I would give is that you should be ready for anything when you're working in the hospitality industry. You will get put into places you're unfamiliar with and that is okay, just try to learn as much as possible and have a positive attitude and you will thrive.
