Responsibilities

This summer I worked in the Blond Genius Okoboji location. I was in charge of the day to day operations of the store such as assisting customers, running the register and keeping the store presentable. I planned and implemented all of the displays and floor plans in the store with the help of my colleagues. I assisted upper management in adding inventory to the online store through Shopify. I also interacted with customers through Instagram and helped improve engagement.

Accomplishments

I would say being on my own in the store and taking charge would be my greatest accomplishment. All of the upper management works in the West Des Moines location so I was given a lot of responsibility with my position. It made me feel very accomplished to be given so much trust and responsibility.

Learning experience

My greatest lesson learned would be leadership and confidence. Having to make split decisions on my own without someone to turn to immediately has made me grow to be more confident in what I am doing. I have also become a better leader throughout this internship because other employees turn to me when they have questions or they need guidance.
