Some responsibilities that I had during my internship included, meeting with potential clients as well as scheduling and giving tours of the facility, event set up/tear down, developing rental contracts and proposals, administration duties, coordinating member events, updating social media and websites, and attending bridal shows to interact with potential clients.
My greatest accomplishment during my internship was putting in hard work and working my way up to acquire more responsibility. By the end of my internship, I was given the position of coordinating an event by myself and because of the experience I had gained up until that point, that really helped me to succeed and do well in that position.
Some great lessons that I learned from my internship are that communication is key and one of the most important things when it comes to working as part of a team. Also, every experience is important and you have to make the most out of every situation that you are in.
What advice would you give?
My advice for future students in my major is to not be afraid to jump right in. Every experience is important and there are so many different sides to the events fields that you may not realize so know that every experience, job, class, or task that you do is important and will benefit you in the future even if you don't realize it from the start.
