This summer at The American Club I was working as a line cook. When an order would come in, I would be in charge of making the product for the customer. I was responsible for making sure all of the prep was ready in time for the kitchen to open and was also responsible for making sure we had everything that was needed for my side of the kitchen.
I really learned how to connect with my coworkers and reach out to them when I needed it. I had no culinary experience and several people were very willing to help me and I knew if I had not reached out to them, I would have crashed. Networking was one of the biggest things I wanted to accomplish and I did.
What advice would you give?
Be willing to try new things even if you have zero experience. Do not be afraid to ask for help when needed.
