Responsibilities

What I love about my internship is that I have different responsibilities each day. For the most part, I get to assist guests with their experience from start to styling. This internship is so much more than retail. I have the opportunity to style guests and help them find clothing that makes them feel confident and stylish. I also help with visual merchandising. For that, I get to dress mannequins for tables and the front window, as well as help create color stories for each table display.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment has been getting comfortable with pushing my guests outside of their comfort zone. When I first started, I would only bring them what they asked to try on. Now, I am able to pull items that will complement their body shape and get them out of their usual style.

Learning experience

The greatest lessons I learned from my internship would be to be the best coworker you can be and always stay positive and kind. Creating an enjoyable work environment has to start with you. Being a good coworker means helping your fellow teammates put clothing away and staying extra to help finish the cleaning. Being kind and having a positive attitude will help create relationships with your company and the guests you meet.

What advice would you give?

Go above and beyond whenever possible. Even if it's something as small as offering to refold the entire jean table, do it. Not only will this help you make important connections with your employer and company, you will get the opportunity to learn more and gain more experiences.
