Responsibilities

Perform blood lactate testing Create workouts and programming for high-level track and cross country athletes Maintain a clean and professional training environment Master a state-of-the-art app to coordinate with athletes and perform testing Coordinate coaching with other coaches Help push athletes to new limits

Accomplishments

I helped administer and facilitate 3 blood lactate testing sessions at once which when I started I couldn’t even do one on my own.

Learning experience

I learned that working in a performance lab is very similar to coaching 1on1 with athletes and it is a good avenue in adding the science aspect into very challenging training.

What advice would you give?

Do a lot of research into what field you want to work in. I knew very early on I didn’t want to do normal personal training as that was very boring. I wanted to do something unique and XLR8 was exactly that for me.
