Marissa Franklin

Responsibilities

During my internship I have a slew of duties. I shadow counselors that do Habilitation Services along with BHIS services. I am to watch the counselors and observe their counseling styles and write reflections. I also was assigned to create a Newsletter for the Fall quarter. Another task I was given was to create a housing spreadsheet to allow counselors easy access to available housing in the DSM area. I also get to help and learn how to do ADMIN work.

Accomplishments

My biggest accomplishment was creating the newsletter. I was able to be as creative as I wanted and design the newsletter as I felt fit! It was so much fun and after many hours and intense dedication I was able to send it out and get many compliments on it!

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students is do something that your passionate about but something you can still benefit and learn from! I have learned so much from my internship and I’ve met amazing people along the way. When I started out I didn’t know much about mental health just the basics and now I know a lot more!
