- Set up weddings for 100-300 guests - Ensure that the venue(s) are up to event expectations - Attend weekly staff meetings to contribute on successes of weekend and what needs to become priority tasks for the week - Attend detail meetings with wedding clients up to 4 weeks out from the event - Give tours to clients/potential couples at any 3 of the venue locations
My greatest experience during my internship was getting to lead weddings on my own and being one of the first people among the staff that was trained to open and close the newest venue that One23 Events took over, which was The Terrace at Stillwater Public Library.
What advice would you give?
My advice to future students would be to go out of your comfort zone and always take the opportunities that are given to you. If I was asked if I wanted to work 3 weddings in one weekend, I took that chance because it definitely taught me how to manage my time even more, become a lot more organized and gave me beneficial experience that I can put to use in this industry!
