Responsibilities

My weekly tasks included updating ATS packets, confirming orders for all accounts in RLM, issuing return authorizations, process replacement orders, entering weekly PO numbers form reorders, and maintaining simple sample coordination of multiple lines, In the weeks before LA market week, I was responsible for receiving and prepping collections. This entailed communicating with sample coordinators in regards to what was and was not received. During market week, I assisted with buying appointments, ensured collections were always presentable, and created a comfortable environment for the buyers. Once market week was over I communicated with maple coordinators to send back collections.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment would be that by the end of my internship I was able to help a buyer from start to finish. I would place their order, enter the PO number, update the shipping report. If there was an issue once receiving the order, I would issue a return authorization and process a replacement order. This was my greatest accomplishment, because I was able to communicate with the buyer with confidence.

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students is to get out of your comfort zone. Apply for internships you may think are out of your reach or that you don't know much about. It's not always about working for the biggest names in the industry.
