Responsibilities

During my time at The Avenue I was exposed to many aspects of the company. Some of my more prominent responsibilities included creating and entering purchase orders into the system, creating wear lookbooks for future seasons, updating and creating product pages in Shopify, and sending out a weekly update to the marketing team about styles that have moved to the sale section of the website. My day to day was always different, making it exciting to work each day!

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship was getting the opportunity to fully complete both the Fall and Resort Lookbooks for The Avenue. In the lookbooks, I entered in each brand/designer that we had placed orders with during the designated season along with quantities, pricing, images of the styles, and sizing. This was something that I had begun to work on from the very beginning and to see both completely finished was very rewarding.

Learning experience

The greatest lessons I learned from my experience would be to not be afraid to speak up when you have an idea, it might not always be used, but it could spark an even better idea. Another lesson would be to always ask questions when needed or even curious, employers love to see a genuine interest in the company.

What advice would you give?

Advice for future students would be to always maintain an open line of communication with your supervisor, get to know and build relationships with those you work with, and to be proactive in your day to day duties to help out your supervisor. For me, doing these really made my internship an absolutely amazing experience, as well as successful.
