Responsibilities

As a supervisor I am responsible for, basically, making sure all tasks are executed and completed. I am to make sure that servers know what their assignments are, when they need to be accomplished, and assist them in any way I can. Supervisors are present at work before servers arrive and are the last ones to leave. I am responsible for making sure all tasks are completed at the end of the shift and am to finish uncompleted tasks, as well as completing bills and making decisions or tough calls when needed.

Accomplishments

At this point I would say I am just proud of how much I have learned as a whole and how well I am able to be a supervisor. I realize that I still have much to learn, but I am proud of my confidence overall. Starting at my job, I learned several useful tasks and have gotten to the point where I can come in to work and know what needs to be done right away. I am much more confident than I was in the beginning, and not just from knowing what to do or learning more, but being able to stay calm even if something is going completely wrong and being able to make certain decisions when needed.

What advice would you give?

Don't be afraid to try something new or something you don't think you may like, because you may grow to like that work or activity you are planning or working around. Never be afraid to ask a question or admit that you may not know what to do. Most times you will be in an internship where the other employees, managers, or supervisors will be willing to help you in any way and want to better your skills and learning experience. Enjoy the experience while you can and make sure to take those skills with you. Event the slightest details, because you may never know when you might use those skills.
