Responsibilities

My responsibilities include planning, organizing, and executing public and private events held at Reiman Gardens. I completed set up and tear down of rentals, developed an individual capstone project that improved the organization and the attention to the public, attended meetings with clients and different committees, and lead guided tours of the venue.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment has been identifying a previously unidentified need at Reiman Gardens. I created music playlists for the different large public events hosted here, including Garden Art Fair and Winter Wonderscape Show.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I have learned is to implement your passions into your work. I have a passion for music and my career goal is to work at music venue, so I implemented curating music for my event internship to play at their events.

What advice would you give?

My advice is to push and challenge yourself. For other event management students, try working in different areas of events to figure out specifically what you like and what you dislike. It’s always better to figure this out earlier so get an internship sooner than later so you can apply to your selected area after graduating with the degree.
