Responsibilities

I had several different responsibilities during my internship at Fitness World as a Personal Trainer. I was responsible for marketing strategies, in-house displays to promote programs, tracking success of trainers, development of policy handbook, fitness testing packet, and nutrition programming. I was also responsible for website content development and 'secret shopper' research and feedback in addition to shadowing trainer. I also attended Wellness Fairs with managers along with assisted in running the front desk and challenges Fitness World put on for its members.

Accomplishments

I believe my greatest accomplishment was helping make the 60-day InBody Challenge one of the most successful so far and the party to honor the participants and members had the biggest turn out they've ever had.

What advice would you give?

Some advice for future students is you should strive to be driven, organized, and adaptable. Fairly early on I learned that things can change quickly and you need to be able to adapt quickly to make sure you're successful. Since things can quickly change it's important to be well organized so you're able to keep track of everything that needs to be done and what tasks take priority. Being driven is also important because opportunities can come from anywhere and you should always be motivated to take every opportunity you can.
