Responsibilities

• Checking patients in and out through obtaining vitals • Participate in exercise prescription and wellness counseling • Research, create and present educational bulletin board • Attend educational classes and teach at least one exercise lecture • Acquire critical thinking skills • Instruct patients with individualized strength training exercises • Provide high quality service with confidentiality and compassion

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment was when the patients would tell me they could see a difference in themselves from when they started the program. It made me so happy to know I was apart of such an amazing team that helps improve the wellbeing and overall quality of life in its patients.

Learning experience

I learned a lot during my internship but one of the most important things I learned is to make sure to have good communication skills with the team I am working with and the patients I am working with.

What advice would you give?

My advise to you would be to ask questions, this is how we learn best! Make sure to pay attention even if you think a class doesn't interest you at the time it might be very helpful information in the future!
