Responsibilities
Some responsibilities that I have the pleasure of doing our packing rentals for the weddings that weekend, unpacking and cleaning rentals from the previous weekend's weddings, attending weddings for set up and tear down, and shadowing the lead planner. We get to do so many things, and every week looks different.
Accomplishments
Honey and Joy had a three-day wedding weekend event for a top client, and I could attend and help out with the entire weekend. It was an amazing weekend, and I got some amazing first-hand experience that weekend.
Learning experience
I have learned many things, but I think the most important piece of information I have learned is the different and unique situations that a wedding planner gets put in and learning how to deal with each and every situation. You have to do a lot of problem-solving, and you have to learn to do it quickly. It's important to be flexible and understand that not everything will go as planned, and you need to be prepared to have a solution.
What advice would you give?
Start doing your internships as soon as you can. It is such an amazing opportunity, and you get to learn from some of the best people and make great connections that are only going to help further your career.
