Responsibilities

Worked efficiently while planning events to ensure all guests had the best experience. Attended to occasional characters and princesses on the grounds for special events. Efficiently communicated to our target audiences on social media to promote the business. Ensured safety to our guests by closing off attractions when there is insufficient lighting or if there is animal sickness. Communicated to current and potential guests to answer any questions they had about our seasonal events. Helped the guests stay entertained by giving showtimes for various attractions on the grounds. Ensured correct food safety protocol when handling food and catering orders.

Accomplishments

I was able to help and run four events (200 total people) in one night by myself! The second intern and my supervisor were both out that day, but they did make sure to help me as much as possible before that night.

Learning experience

People are always trying to help! If they offer, take their help because they know what to do. It is not a sign of weakness either, it is a strength to know when to accept help and not be struggling through a tough task alone.

What advice would you give?

Do not tunnel vision yourself into one type of career area while in college. This is the time to try everything to make sure that what you do out of college is what you like doing. What I have done at Center Grove is not something that I really see myself doing after graduation, but I know that now because of this amazing internship!
