Responsibilities

I am responsible for helping my professor research and design her wearable art research project. * researching multiple concepts including but not limited to the inspiration, fabrics, specific threads, different shapes, and the specific theory the wearable art is based on. * digitizing and finalizing her patterns on Moderis and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop * hand sewing embellishments * Laser Cutting * Cleaning and organizing her entire studio

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment was making connections in my industry. My professor/boss is very well known in the industry and has a lot of connections so my working hard and getting to know her, I have made a new connection in the fashion industry. She has actually helped me get a couple of interviews with other companies.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I have learned is to be patient, especially in a research position. Even when you think you aren't doing much, trust me, you are. Every little detail and research task is important to the process and helps you get to your end game.

What advice would you give?

The best advice I can give is to get close with your professors, they will help you go far and recognize hard work and talent and you will be rewarded for it. If I could add photos of what we are doing, I would; but unfortunately, I can't. The garment we are working on together is for a competition and the rules are really strict and I am unable to show pictures until after the competition.
