Responsibilities

I work as a front desk, housekeeper, and housekeeping manager. During my internship, my responsibilities are cleaning rooms to vacant ready for our new guests, do special request service, greeting our guests, check in/check out, dealing with a complaint guest, POS, and any other service that request from our guest.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship experience is multitasking. The housekeeping manager and the front desk need to be good at multitasking. For the front desk, I need to be patient and calm while I am handling complained guests. For the housekeeping manager, I need to keep checking who finished cleaning the room, how many rooms they need to clean, who needs help, who did mistakes, and any other things. I think I grew up a lot in a short period of time, I can handle almost everything without help and my multi-tasking skills also improved.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned from my internship was that patience. Working at a hotel meaning that needs to meet people and dealing with them all the time. A lot of people are rude while phone calls and some people are very picky about everything. However, I have to press down myself and never get express my feeling to them because one of my duties is to satisfy the customer.

What advice would you give?

At the beginning of your internship, don't be afraid to make a mistake and ask questions whenever you have. “The more successful you are, the more mistakes you will make. People who don’t do anything, don’t make mistakes.” - Robert Anthony
