At my internship my responsibilities are to watch and take care of the children in my room. I help feed them, change them, keep them safe, teach them, and even play with toys with them. I also spend half the time in the office helping enter information for the food program, and attendance of the children.
Learning how every parent and child is different. And figuring out how to help and work with all of them. But also learning not to judge families for being different, and treating all their children the same way.
What advice would you give?
Always keep your mind open to learning new experiences about children and your environment. Every family is different, saying that they all parent differently. Learn from every parent and staff member to help you understand how to help all children.
