Quinn Ditolla

Responsibilities

Working behind the bar as well as setting up and taking down events. As the summer went on I was able to plan a wedding and two other events from start to finishing on my own. It was a lot of responsibility that I really ended up enjoying.

Accomplishments

Seeing the wedding I planned actually come to life. It was so great to see that all of the communication and meetings with the bride and groom really made for a great wedding day for both them and me. I was able to set up and work as the wedding coordinator during the event and also helped take down. It was a long day, but well worth it.

Learning experience

To ask questions! When starting a new job you are not going to know everything so rather than just doing what needs to be done, ask questions along the way to get a better understanding of what you are doing. Another reason is that not everything will always go as planned. This is hard to understand in this industry because its your nature to plan everything and be organized, but life happens and what's important is that you can find ways to fix it rather than getting upset when things do not go as planned.

What advice would you give?

To work hard, but also enjoy the event as well because after all you helped it come to life and if you are relaxed and having fun then the bride/ groom or whoever in charge of the event will also be relaxed knowing that you are not stressed about it.
