Responsibilities

During each shift I help guests find their true bra size, add on items to build outfits and their wardrobe, promote our loyalty program at the register, help with floor-sets and NSO's, and meet with new employees in "bra meetings" in order to train them for assisting guests and product knowledge. Finally, I also process shipment in the mornings and manage the line outside our store while greeting customers during rush hours.

Accomplishments

My biggest accomplishment from my experience at Aerie was successfully helping with our new store opening. In preparation, I got to lead a shipment shift with other employees, in which we completed all the organizing and processing of new merchandise. In addition, I got hands-on experience with moving everything from the old store to the new one; this involved setting up fixtures, filling frames, and updating all the marketing.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned throughout my internship experience was how to manage my time. With lots of hours at Aerie, schoolwork, and of course, and balancing a work/personal life, I definitely struggled at first. In order to better succeed in each of these priorities, I created a weekly schedule template. From there, I delegated time blocks for everyday to each area in life. Not only did this allow me to flourish throughout the internship and stay on top of my grades, but it also drove an increase in my everyday energy and attitude.

What advice would you give?

My advice to future AMD students is to set measurable goals from the beginning of your internship and document and reflect on them weekly. Further, don't be afraid to excel by taking on any opportunity that comes your way, big or small.
