For my final semester at Iowa State I am working as an intern at EveryStep: Grief & Loss Services. I facilitate grief support groups and do other community outreach projects. We have grief support groups throughout the year and then we also go into schools and facilitate weekly support groups for students that have lost a loved one. What I really enjoy is that our services are open to all ages and situations and are free of charge.
My biggest accomplishment is working outside my comfort zone. I am primarily interested in working with children, but I started to shadow in on one of the adult support groups. I ended up really enjoying it and I was able to help lead the final adult support group.
