Responsibilities
I helped manage the Community Outreach Program at the Festival. The Community Outreach Program consists of local non-profit organizations who participate on-site at the Festival by hosting a booth and sharing their organization’s mission as well as providing an interactive arts related activity to attendees. Another responsibility during my internship was creating contracts for both food vendors and local musicians that participated on-site at the festival.
Accomplishments
My greatest accomplishment during my internship was adapting to learning how to do my internship tasks as well as forming relationships with my team members all while being remote at the beginning of my internship. It can be scary and intimidating to start a new job no matter what, but I learned how to virtually stay connected with the people I work with.
Learning experience
My greatest lessons I learned from my experience is that no question is a bad question. The more questions, the better. I also learned how to better take initiative with tasks in order to stay motivated and productive during my internship.
What advice would you give?
My best advice is to start thinking about where you want to intern early on in your college career. Try and build connections and relationships with organizations you have an interest in and don’t be afraid to reach out to people in the industry if you want to learn more about what they do. Also, don’t be afraid of change. Where you think you’ll end up may not actually be where you end up. Throughout all the amazing opportunities you are about to experience, you will learn about yourself and what you enjoy doing.
