Responsibilities

During my internship I was responsible for assisting the associate creative designer with anything her or her team needed. I helped with sketch pages, CADing sketches, creating inspiration boards, organization and documentation of the vintage collection, prepping for production, along with other daily tasks. Every day brought many different tasks and responsibilities and that was one of the many things I enjoyed about my summer with LoveShackFancy.

Accomplishments

I feel that I accomplished so many great things during my 10 weeks program. First of which was traveling to New York for the first time all by myself and navigating the big city. I loved every minute of it and cannot wait to go back some day. I also feel I gained so much new knowledge of the industry and how production is run from the beginning of a season to the end. I was able to help with the end of Resort 2022, most of Spring 2022, and the beginning of Summer 2022. Lastly, I feel I have learned so many useful skills including lots of photoshop, excel, and much more.

Learning experience

I think the some of the greatest lessons I learned from my internship were communication in the workplace and how a company in the fashion industry is run. I learned how they communicate with manufacturers, other companies, how photoshoots are run, and model fittings. It was all very interesting to watch and be apart of.

What advice would you give?

My best advice to fashion students is to network, not be afraid to ask questions, and say yes to opportunities!
