Responsibilities

I worked as a social media and visual merchandising intern. My routine consisted of creating content for all of our social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram), preparing new arrivals (unboxing, steaming, tagging, taking inventory), resetting the store floor (racks, table displays, mannequins), and assisting with photoshoots (on & off-site). Along with these responsibilities I also worked as a part-time sales associate where I would interact with customers, assist with fitting rooms, maintain a well-organized store, update the website inventory, package online orders to be shipped and open/close the store.

Accomplishments

I would say that my greatest accomplishment from my experience this summer would be the creation of styling videos for our Instagram feed and stories. I learned how to edit and create fast-forward styling videos to show fun ways to wear our new arrivals, we saw an increase in our store's traffic and sales once we began to post these videos. Along with that, I am very proud of all the content that I created while interning at Mint, I admire the creativity and work that goes on behind the scenes in order to curate a successful social media post. Lastly, I am proud of the pop-up shop and events that I helped to promote this summer, our promotions brought in tons of sales and new customers, it was a great way to see the handwork paying off.

What advice would you give?

Be confident in yourself and your abilities, don't be afraid to make mistakes and ask question because that's the best way to learn! Also, if given the opportunity to explore different areas of the business outside of your internship's focus, go for it because you'll gain a greater understanding of the business as a whole.
