Responsibilities

I worked in the E-Commerce department as a Fashion Merchandising intern. Each day I worked in the fashion closet for the website and handled responsibilities such as communicating with companies about featuring their garments in photoshoots, selling their items on our site, and more. I organized affiliate reports through excel, I Edited images for the website in Photoshop, and I did weekly site sweeps to make sure prices, pictures, and quantities were updated. I also helped create web pages for the website.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment from my experience was creating a web page for my supervisor's story. Our supervisors would write stories about wearing one garment during the day and transforming it to wear at night. They would send me the story and pictures and I would upload it in to the website and organize it to look like the other stories on the website. I had to follow a lot of steps and use my own creativity to make it look nice, while still being able to input my own ideas into small details such as how to organize the photos. It was very rewarding when I would go to the website and see the entire web page that I made.

What advice would you give?

My future advice to students is to be not be afraid to try something new or do something you are unsure of. I was nervous for my internship because I was not sure that I wanted to work in E-Commerce and I also did not work with E-Commerce before so it was new for me. I ended up loving the experience and I learned so much about E-Commerce. It made me realize that I may want to work in an E-Commerce department one day.
