Responsibilities

As an Activities Intern, at Big Cedar Lodge, I am responsible for facilitating, supervising, and providing accountability for all organized activities. I supervise the Kid's Club Program and facilitate safe and fun environmentally oriented programs for participants. I also facilitate assigned day to day resort activities.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship experience has been gaining confidence in my ability to lead in a professional environment. My internship has taught me how to quickly learn new skills and how to apply them while adapting to problems as they arise.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned is how important teamwork is in the hospitality and events industries. The most important part of working as a team is having a mutual respect for eachother. I also learned how important managing your professional and personal time is. Keeping a to-do list helps to guarantee that everything that I planned to do will actually get done.

What advice would you give?

The best advice that I can give to future Event Management students is to take advantage of every opportunity that you are presented with. Every little lesson helps in reaching your big goal!
