Responsibilities

Basically I watch children at the shelter to make sure they are giving respect to other peers by keeping all the peers safe. As well as cooking for them, helping clean, passing medication out, logging their daily activities and so forth.

Accomplishments

I would have to say my greatest accomplishment was when I helped deescalate a kid when he was mad about something and I talked to him for a long while. Once he cooled down and was able to move on from the situation, he thanked me and said that he can tell I actually care about him and the other kids. This warmed my heart and I love to hear things like.

What advice would you give?

Never give up and push through the hardest parts. It may seem like the end of the world but I promise if you just stick it out, you will make it through.
