Responsibilities

This summer I was a food and beverage intern at a country club. I was in charge of serving food and drinks to the members and ensured that they were well taken care of. I also worked different types of events such as weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, funerals, etc. During these events I cocktailed, passed drinks out to the members, and I helped pass out different appetizers. I also helped set up for all the events and for lunch and dinner I made sure the reserved tables were set up correctly.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment would be getting wonderful feedback from the members that I have served. To ensure wonderful feedback from the members, I made sure they had a great dining experience each and every time.

Learning experience

My greatest lesson that I have learned would be learning how to be more patient. Being a server takes a lot of patience. I haven't always been a patient person, but working at the club has really taught me to become a more patient person.

What advice would you give?

My advice would be to follow your four year curriculum as your advisor recommends and make sure to meet multiple times with your advisor each semester to make sure you're on the right track and to also look for internships ahead of time and not procrastinate.
