I had the opportunity to work with clients individually and in group settings. I programmed workouts for several different populations (kids, athletes, adults). I also demonstrated and walked clients through their exercises and/or workouts.
I would say my greatest accomplishment would be being able to think more creatively. With our adult and younger clients, we aren't doing primary lifts (bench, squat, deadlift, etc.) so I got to create and experience different exercises that better fit those populations.
What advice would you give?
Step outside of your comfort zone and try something different! I always wanted to work with high school and collegiate athletes because that is what I have always known. With this internship, I have completely turned around and want to continue in a private gym setting.
