Tessa Palmer

Responsibilities

I primarily handle the communication between Iowa Kidstrong and the individuals that are coordinating for school's KidStriders program. I handle the social media, the people getting involved, and the actual event coordination in the Spring.

Accomplishments

So far, it's been really rewarding to see these kids get so excited about being involved in something. Last year when I actually was able to see the event, it was really neat to see how proud the kiddos were when they finished the quarter mile fun run!

Learning experience

I learned that communication is absolutely key. People are genuinely very understanding of the things that go wrong in everyday things and complications in technology. Explain what's happening and people will be happy with you being honest.

What advice would you give?

Find an area that interests you and run with it. There are so many more jobs out there than anyone even knows and something will eventually click. It takes all kinds to make the world turn.
