Responsibilities

For my internship I worked in sales/retail for a golf course in Illinois. Selling merchandise, setting up displays, and counting inventory for the end of the month were just a few of the responsibilities I had during my internship.

Accomplishments

One of my greatest accomplishments from my experience was the displays I got to set up in the Golf Shop. I was given the freedom to set up the layout and displays of the Shop and it turned out great!

Learning experience

One of the greatest lessons I learned from my experience was how to deal with unpredictable times. Having an internship during this Pandemic has been a crazy experience and unexpected situations or problems were always coming up. But through this experience I learned how to go with the flow and find solutions along the way.

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students that will be participating in internships is to understand that you aren't perfect. Most of the time, we set such high expectations for ourselves and beat ourselves up when we aren't perfect at our job right away. But it is important to understand that it is okay to make mistakes. Never feel like you failed just know that you are learning.
