Responsibilities

I handled the majority of international business presence for the company. This ranges from keeping email communication with clients, vendors, and partner companies to assisting in foreign client meetings. I translated many of the content from the Naver.com site to the official website (from Korean to English). I also was assisting in Korean client meetings in addition to foreign clients. In addition, I performed some miscellaneous tasks such as helping with in-house photo shoots, picking up garments from the atelier, and working with the women's store for social media.

Accomplishments

I would say the greatest accomplishment from was being able to adjust to working within a foreign environment. Even though I have knowledge of fashion and business, I had to learn to adjust to working within a completely different culture than my normal comfort zone. Not to only mention a language barrier that I embraced rather than letting it prevent me from doing my job.

What advice would you give?

For all students, especially those who are interested in doing an internship abroad, be open to all options. You never know when a great opportunity will come towards your way. It can be a frustrating process overall to look for that dream internship that 100% fits everything you may want. But to even have some experience at a well-established company will greatly benefit you. Don't let the fear of traveling somewhere new if you have that interest. It is a once in a lifetime chance that will help you grow as a person.
