College of Health and Human Sciences recognizes Spring 2025 Graduating Senior Awardees

The College of Health and Human Sciences recognizes six students who have worked especially hard throughout their time at Iowa State. These six students have gone above and beyond not just in the classroom, but in their industry. These students are graduating with distinction due to their excellent grades, support from the staff and their peers, and excellence they strived for every day.

University Marshal: Nina Dorr (Summa Cum Laude)

Nina Dorr is graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 grade point average, earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Throughout her time at Iowa State, Dorr has shown a deep commitment to improving the lives of children and families. She has completed internships and practicums with St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, worked as a teaching assistant in the Iowa State Child Development and Laboratory School and served as an after-school teacher at Ames Community Preschool Center. She also volunteered her time with a grief and loss group, a children’s hospital, and a children’s home in Welkom, South Africa. On campus, Dorr has participated in the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, the Honor’s Program, and the Advanced Woodwind Ensemble. She looks forward to continuing her impact as a Child Life Specialist in Kansas City. 

College Marshal: Rebecca Parker (Summa Cum Laude)

Rebecca Parker is graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 grade point average and a Bachelor of Science in Apparel Merchandising and Design, a concentration in Fashion Communication, and two minors in Sustainability and in Fashion, Culture, History, and Social Justice. A top student and recipient of several fashion-related scholarships, Parker has been heavily involved in Iowa State’s student-run Fashion Show, serving as an outreach producer, special events director, philanthropy director, and social media committee member. She also served as creative director for Trend Magazine, Iowa State’s student-run fashion and lifestyle publication. Parker gained valuable professional experience as a merchandising intern with Todd Snyder and as a dresser and runner at London Fashion Week. She graduates with a deep understanding of the global fashion industry and is well prepared to make her mark in the fashion industry. 

Dean’s Recognition Award: Hannah Even (Summa Cum Laude)

Hannah Even is graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Food Science, having maintained a 4.0 grade point average while mentoring and empowering her fellow students. An active member of the Culinary Food Science Club, she served as secretary while encouraging others to pursue leadership roles of their own. Even made significant contributions to the Iowa State University Creamery, overseeing production processes and developing ice cream flavors. She completed internships in research and development with Wells Enterprises and in content creation for a test kitchen and social media company. She also enhanced her understanding of global food industries through a semester abroad in Greece. Dedicated to serving others, Even has volunteered with Iowa State’s on-campus food pantry and within her church community. After graduation, she will begin a full-time role as a Research and Development Scientist for Wells Enterprises. She looks forward to continuing to uplift and support future Cyclones as she begins her professional career.

Dean’s Recognition Award: Ella Henrichsen (Summa Cum Laude)

Ella Henrichsen is graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health, in the Pre-Health Professions focus area. While completing pre-dentistry coursework, she maintained a 4.0 grade point average and earned a minor in Dance. Henrichsen has made valuable contributions to the Motor Control Research Laboratory and conducted a capstone research study aligned with her professional goals.  A dedicated and accomplished student, she has received several awards and scholarships and participated in the University Honors Program. She has been an active leader on campus, serving as President of the Iowa State Pre-Dental Club, Vice President of the Chi Omega sorority, and volunteering in various roles. Notably, she served as a Vida Volunteer, traveling to Costa Rica on several occasions to assist with dental care.  She also gained work experience serving as a sterilization assistant for several dental practices. After graduating, Henrichsen will attend the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

Dean’s Recognition Award: Jordan Pray (Summa Cum Laude)

Jordan Pray is graduating summa cum laude with a 3.99 grade point average. She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with endorsements in K-8 English and Language Arts, Reading, and K-12 Coaching. Pray has consistently demonstrated a passion for teaching, completing student teaching placements at Edwards Elementary School in Ames and Beaver Creek Elementary School in Johnston. She also completed practicums at Monroe Elementary School and Willowbrook Elementary School, both in central Iowa. Dedicated to supporting her peers as well as her future students, Pray served as a peer mentor and worked as a tutor. She has also been involved in Dance Marathon, receiving an award for her involvement in 2025. Pray is well-prepared and excited to begin her career as an elementary school teacher.

Graduating Student of the Semester: Morgan Farnham 

Morgan Farnham is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. She has demonstrated academic success, leadership, and a strong commitment to service throughout her time at Iowa State. As a Student Ambassador and a member of the Ambassador Leadership Team for the College of Health and Human Sciences, she helped prospective students explore how Iowa State could help them achieve their goals. Farnham also served for three years as the College’s representative for Collegiate 4-H, promoting events within the Ames community. She completed internships with Iowa State Extension and Outreach, Iowa Specialty Hospital, and UnityPoint Health, where supervisors praised her quick thinking and problem-solving skills. Farnham’s experiences growing up on a farm and being active in Collegiate 4-H have shaped her passion for food systems and nutrition. After graduation, Morgan will pursue a master’s degree and become a registered dietitian.
