Dietitians are nutrition experts who strive for optimal health and nutrition of individuals and the population. The curriculum for Iowa State’s dietetics program as well as our diet and exercise program meet the academic requirements of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and will prepare you for a career in the field of dietetics. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®), the accrediting agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Morgan’s Iowa State Dietetics Story

Iowa State offers one of the few dietetics programs in Iowa and Morgan knew it was a great fit for her future career goals. She’s had three summer internships and looks forward to pursuing her master of professional practice in dietetics and becoming a registered dietitian nutritionist.

“When I was deciding to become a dietician, I really loved the areas that I could explore and how I didn’t just have to pick one path and go on to that,” said Morgan. “So, if I decide that I don’t like a certain area, I can always switch and I know that I have the right education to do that.”
