Overall Experience

My overall experience was not only filled with class, but with exposuree to a culture not my own. Discovering a whole new side of the earth was a significant experience for me to go through. Finding my way through my peers and navigating the city of Rome was a special experience I will remember and carry with me.

Learning experience

The most valuable experience was interacting with the school children shown in the secondary school visited in Rome. Given the opportunity to not only experience what these students do in their everyday life, but see how through out the many different cultures how an environment within a classroom can be constructed.

Memorable experience

The most memorable experience although hard to pick just one had to be the experience of going to the beach within Santa Marinella. Which I had to, for the first time, take a train to get to the beach. Being in the water just gave blame a feeling of purpose and encouraged me to trust in the process and in myself and my potential.

What did you not expect?

The most shocking thing was a pickpocketing incident that myself and my roommate experienced while getting on a bus. When In reference to a new approach towards my career is to always be aware of those around you for they have an affect on the environment of my classroom.

What advice would you give?

I give the advice of turning those nervous feelings of not knowing what will happen with what you as a student can make happen. Do not be afraid to apply for scholarships just as much as loans. Trust in yourself.

How has this experience impacted your life?

This experience put in perspective that I would love within my career to have the privilege of exploring the world and development within the people living on it through learning. In short I want to people able to travel and not just experience different cultures, but to experience and transcend through education.

How did you learn about this experience?

I first learned about this travel abroad opportunity by my transfer orientation class- CI 315.
