Become a CHS Student Ambassador
The College of Health and Human Sciences Ambassadors program is an exciting volunteer opportunity within the College of Health and Human Sciences. Ambassadors represent the college at recruitment events where they share their experiences in a positive, realistic view to prospective students and guests.
Ambassador Responsibilities
Ambassadors interact with prospective students and their guests through a variety of events, including:
- – Daily Visits
- – Experience Iowa State Visit days
- – College of Health and Human Sciences tours
- – Custom Day in the Life visits
- – Middle and High School Group Visits
Ambassadors also have the opportunity to help with social media outreach, communication projects, youth organization project judging and scholarship awarding, and assist with college functions for current students, alumni, and donors.
Participation Requirements
While the ambassador program is a volunteer opportunity, there are guidelines for participation:
- – Attend the new ambassador training and all ambassador retreats
- – Attend monthly ambassador meetings, held once a month while school is in session
- – Participate in a minimum of 10 hours of Health and Human Sciences recruitment events each semester
- – Interact in a professional and acceptable manner
- – Exhibit outstanding customer service skills
- – Share your positive experiences about Iowa State University and the College of Health and Human Sciences
- – Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 during your participation
Application Procedure
You can apply to become an ambassador anytime using the online application below. Applications will be reviewed, and selected applications interviewed to start in the fall or spring semester.
- Applications to start in Spring 2026 are due on Wednesday, November 26, 2025
- Spring 2026 applicants will be interviewed between December 2-5, 2025
- Applications to start in Fall 2026 are due on Friday, April 17, 2026
- Fall 2026 applicants will be interviewed between April 20-May 1, 2026
