Pursuing a passion for teaching
Experience in real classrooms powers Madison’s career
“It’s a really great place to get into education. Just from the amount of friends that I’ve made through the program and then also the amount of time they let us spend in the classroom and they put us in classrooms, I think it’s a really awesome place to be. And every single semester that I’ve been at Iowa State I have gotten a different experience in a school,” shared Madison.
Madison transferred from a community college to Iowa State University’s School of Education to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.
While her studies started in Ames, Iowa, they took her to Valencia, Spain, and Norway, where she gained a global perspective on teaching.
What kind of teacher does Madison aspire to be?
“I’m a teacher who’s there for them and cares about them even outside the classroom.”
