Responsibilities

Assisted in creating sponsor proof data for the sales team. Helped manage all forms of social media throughout the season.

Accomplishments

I believe my greatest accomplishment was being left in charge of my supervisors sponsorships, social media, and other tasks after she left for maternity leave. Being given that much trust is something that I think is a huge accomplishment to receive by the end of the season.

Learning experience

I would say the biggest lesson I learn from my experience is organization will always be one of the most important aspects when working - no matter the area/industry. I have always been a super organized person, but this internship really brought to my attention how important it truly is. Another lesson I took away from my experience is making sure I have a well balanced work/life. A healthy work/life balance is so important when working in the sports industry, because during the season, most of your time will be spent at work.

What advice would you give?

Advice I would give to future students in my major - and any other one - is to make sure that you enjoy what you're doing and it is something you want for a career, not just a job. Enjoying where you're at and what you are doing is so important because it makes you actually want to do the work and over-all makes the experience so much better. The environment you surround yourself in makes a large impact on how your experience will go.
